Family Wars are scheduled bracket competitions between player families. They reward coordinated PvP participation and are separate from battles over city territory.
A member with Manage Wars permission can enlist the family. A family already holding a scheduled or active war cannot enlist for another.
Matchmaking runs on Wednesday at 15:00 UTC. Paired wars start Friday at 15:00 UTC and normally run for 48 hours, ending Sunday at 15:00 UTC. Read the actual scheduled times shown in your family's war panel.
The bracket ladder runs Bronze, Iron, Silver, Gold, Platinum and Diamond, with subranks III, II and I. Matchmaking considers bracket proximity and excludes active allies from pairing.
Qualifying PvP fights between the paired families advance the competition. Score is based on the winner's relative combat challenge, rather than treating every hit as an identical point. A winning defender can score too. Stalemates record participation without advancing score.
War score, the hit tally and earned Notoriety are different report values. The post-win Mug, Hospitalize or Leave choice affects applicable war Notoriety, not the already-determined Family War score.
The winning family receives 80% of the bracket's Notoriety pool; the loser receives 20%. Winners also receive weapon, armour and drug crates, while losers receive a smaller consolation crate allocation.
Rewards belong to the family, with crates placed in its armoury. Leadership and armoury policies control their use or distribution. They are not automatically personal rewards for each participant.
A win promotes the family one bracket step and a loss demotes it, within the ladder's limits. A 0-0 tie cancels the war without rewards or bracket movement. Other tied scores extend the end time by an hour, repeatedly if needed until the tie breaks.
