Family roles combine a place in the hierarchy with explicit permissions. A role's name is a label, not proof that it can perform a particular action. Families can customize their roles and access.
The Leader is the highest role and has full permissions. Starter roles include Co-Leader, Lieutenant, Member and Recruit. Their defaults are only a starting point: inspect your family's current configuration.
Role management requires Manage Roles. Non-leader managers can edit roles below their own and cannot grant a permission they do not hold themselves. Member-management actions also enforce hierarchy checks; possessing a permission does not bypass every rank restriction.
| Permission area | Responsibility |
|---|---|
| Family Bank | Withdraw shared funds and set tax |
| Tech Tree | Purchase family technology |
| Armoury Management | Configure policies and distribute stock |
| Accept Applications | Process membership applications |
| Invite Players | Send family invitations |
| Diplomacy | Manage alliances and rivalries |
| Enlist for War | Manage family war participation |
| Claim Zones | Perform authorized territory actions |
| Mute in Family Chat | Apply timed family-chat mutes |
Separate routine recruitment from access to shared funds. Armoury item policies provide additional use and withdrawal rules beyond the role's general management permissions.
