A listing's asking price is gross sale value, not guaranteed cash in the seller's balance. A sale first applies the relevant market fee, then applicable family tax, and accumulates the seller's remaining earnings for collection.
Global listings have a 2% base fee. Street listings use the listing city's local base tax and the seller's applicable Heat increase. Finance mastery reduces the player-market fee rate by 25%.
For a $100,000 Global sale without mastery, the market fee is $2,000. With Finance mastery alone, it is $1,500. This is a relative fee reduction, not 25% extra sale value. Fee amounts are rounded and the effective rate is bounded.
Family tax is calculated from proceeds after the market fee, for both Global and Street sales. The result accumulates as pending earnings. The buyer pays at purchase; the seller uses Collect to transfer available pending proceeds.
Sold-out listings can still have pending money. Collection includes pending earnings rather than requiring remaining stock, then clears the collected balances so they cannot pay twice. Outstanding default loan debt can garnish the incoming collection.
Cancelling stock and collecting sale proceeds are different actions. Review remaining quantity and pending money separately; a listing without a buyer has no realized sale earnings.
