City businesses provide services and can generate income for a player owner. Business ownership is personal, while access to purchasing is linked to your family's district control.
You do not need to own a business to use its public service. City-run businesses continue operating without a player owner.
Open the City map, select the relevant district and inspect its businesses. To buy one:
The one-business limit applies across all cities. Controlling a district does not automatically give its businesses to the family; an eligible member must purchase an available business with personal funds.
Your first business purchase can award the business-owner badge.
| Business | Owner income or responsibility |
|---|---|
| Safe House | Paid uses of the service |
| Loan Shark | Lending capital, borrower limits and interest |
| Numbers Racket | A share of ticket sales |
| Fight Club | A house share from resolved fight betting |
| Poker Room, Roulette and Blackjack | Applicable game fees or house income; owners can configure bet limits |
| Chop Shop | A share of vehicle-sale proceeds in its city |
| Bullet Factory | Stocking production materials and earning from bullet sales |
| Pawn Shop | Scheduled passive owner income |
Availability and purchase prices depend on the city. A business's purchase price is not a promise of a particular return. Usage-driven income depends on player activity, and some businesses require operating capital or materials.
Business earnings accumulate separately from your cash. Use the owner's Collect action to transfer available accumulated income. Collection resets that accumulated balance, so it cannot be collected twice.
Outstanding Loan Shark debt can garnish a collection before it reaches your cash balance. The gross collected amount and final cash increase can therefore differ.
Loan Shark owners manage lending funds and the business's maximum loan amount. Borrowers still have their own level-based limits.
Bullet Factory owners purchase gunpowder and iron to keep production running. Production stock and accumulated sale income are separate balances.
Owners of Blackjack, Roulette and Poker Room can set their table's minimum and maximum bets within the permitted bounds. A visitor should check that city's current limits before playing.
